Client Testimonials

I’m Cerenity Frederick, a freshman studying Legal Communications, and I’ve been dancing for four years. Currently, I dance with the Beacon Liturgical Dance Ministry, Howard University Chapter. Soul Movement Dance Studio has been more than just a place to dance—it’s become a source of growth and strength. Through dance, I’ve gained a newfound confidence, a sense of belonging, and the tools I need to navigate the challenges of life. It’s given me a family and taught me to embrace my individuality, to step outside the box, and do so with authenticity and style. As the Pageant Coordinator for Howard’s Mister and Miss Royal Court, I carry these lessons into every role I take on, always remembering the power of self-expression and community.

Self-discovery and soul searching are just a few of the many initiatives of Soul Movement. The ability to connect and adapt a practice of positive self-expression are things that I value most about Soul Movement. The dance conservatory’s mission to provide the community with the true definition of the art of soul is an astonishing accomplishment. As a Soul Movement Parent, nurturing the gift of dance for my daughter has been so much more than the physical esthetics of a pointed toe, pirouette, or grand jete. Soul movement has provided my daughter with components of wellness education, discipline, the ability to embrace her essence of beauty, camaraderie, and so much more. We are very thankful for the Founder and Owner, Samantha Cyprian for providing a creative space where children are enriched, enthused, and empowered.

Soul Movement has been a true gift in my daughter’s life over the past three years. From the moment she stepped into the studio, she found not just a place to dance, but a community that has nurtured her spirit, her confidence, and her identity. The instructors have created a space where she feels seen, supported, and inspired. Through their guidance, she’s grown in confidence, body awareness, and self-expression. Dance has become more than just movement—it’s a way for her to connect with herself, her culture, and her voice.

What makes Soul Movement so special is the sense of community and representation it offers. My daughter has found friendships that uplift her and mentors who model pride, grace, and strength. She’s learned to celebrate who she is, both on and off the stage. I’m so thankful to Soul Movement for creating such a transformative space. It’s more than a dance studio—it’s a place where young people come into their own.

Soul Movement has been a transformative experience for my daughter, shaping her not only as a dancer but as a confident and self-assured young girl. From the moment she took her first class at just three years old, she was embraced by an environment that nurtured her growth. Over the years, she has gained an incredible sense of body awareness, learning how to move with grace, strength, and intention. The instructors at Soul Movement have instilled in her a deep love for dance, helping her develop both technique and artistic expression in a way that feels natural and empowering.

Beyond dance, Soul Movement has given her something even more valuable—a sense of belonging. She has formed meaningful friendships with her peers, sharing a bond built on mutual encouragement and shared passion. Through her training, she has developed cultural pride, understanding the history and significance of the movements she learns. She has come to see dance not just as an activity but as a powerful way to connect with her heritage, express herself, and celebrate the beauty of diverse cultures.

Perhaps most importantly, Soul Movement has reinforced the connection between physical and emotional well-being. My daughter now understands that movement is more than just performance—it’s a way to feel strong, confident, and healthy. She has cultivated a love for fitness and an appreciation for how taking care of her body also nurtures her mind and spirit. I am so grateful for the impact that Soul Movement has had on her, and I look forward to watching her continue to grow as both a dancer and a young lady who carries herself with pride, passion, and purpose.

Soul Movement has been an incredible space for both of my daughters. Zauri has been dancing there for a few years and has not only grown in her technique but also in her maturity and teamwork, thanks to Wellness Wednesday. The program, which includes conditioning, has helped her develop strength, discipline, and valuable life skills, allowing her to work better with her peers and approach challenges with confidence. This is Cydney’s first year, and in such a short time, we’ve seen tremendous growth in her confidence and passion for dance. She has learned to step outside her comfort zone, trust in her abilities, and embrace the joy of movement. Watching her blossom under the guidance of the instructors has been truly rewarding, and she looks forward to every class.

A huge part of what makes Soul Movement so special is its owner, Samantha and her team. The team is amazing with the kids, creating a warm, supportive, and structured learning environment where dancers feel encouraged to grow. Her dedication and passion for her students are evident in everything she does, and we are truly grateful for the positive impact she has had on our daughters.
